Joseph Haines, Sr., UEL, my 4th great-grandfather

Joseph Haines, Sr. was born in Germany and immigrated to New York about 1760. He had a lease from Sir Wm. Johnson for a tract of 100 acres of land in Tryon County at a cost of 6 pounds a year. There, he raised seven children until the outbreak of the Revolutionary War, when his three sons went to serve in the King's Royal Regiment of New York. One of his sons was killed.
